The Oolahlahhh Brand was established after creating my Persona “Oolahlahhh Likah” in 2016. Believe it or not I used to have a very low self esteem . I gave others, men in particular power over my mind, body, and spirit. I found myself repeating the same cycle and keeping people close that meant me no good in fear of being alone. I blamed myself for everything and thought perhaps if I did more .. looked better.. worked harder .. people would see value in me.

Truth is it isn’t until I saw value in myself that my world changed. I went to sleep one night feeling unworthy, and woke up the following morning feeling unstoppable! I grew closer to God and began to ask for guidance. I realized for so long I had been doing things “Malikah’s Way.” I put all my faith in him, listened to his directions and literally watched what and who I thought was good for me drop by the waist side. Not to say that each change was easy or caused me no pain, because it really did. So much so I had to pray for strength to accept them, because I knew if I back tracked so would my blessings. At this point in my life ... I had nothing else to lose.

Fun fact. I’ve had each of these quotes along with other entrepreneurial ideas in my notes for 3 years. I was just so caught up in waiting for the right time and not knowing where to start that I left them right there . Even worse I was focused on all the wrong things and all the wrong people. But see sadly enough, sometimes it takes you getting to the point where you feel like you have lost it all for you to wake up and change a few things. Malikah was weak, insecure, lonely, and afraid. While Oolahlahhh is fierce,beautiful, empowered, and unapologetic. She lives in her truth. She is comfortable with every aspect of being a woman and finds power in it.

My shirts are simply reminders. See sometimes we forget who we really are. We let people and situations determine our emotions. We lose track of our goals and what’s really important. Men wear their masculinity proudly, while woman are made to feel like we shouldn’t wear our femininity as confidently. I encourage each of you to reevaluate who you are, why you are, and who you want to be. Take your power, and your focus back and live for you. You are whole, you are beautiful, you are powerful, and you can do absolutely anything! I am excited to present my brand to you and look forward to showing you what else I’ve been working on !
